Office of Wellness and Mental Health Selects Interim Director

Regina Sanders has been selected as interim director of the Office of Wellness and Mental Health for the fall semester 2022. Regina has worked at NOVA for over ten years. Most recently, she has served as a BIT (behavior intervention team) Counselor in the Office of Student Services at the Annandale Campus. She assists students with support and the resources needed to aid them in achieving their academic, career and personal goals. In tandem with the Office of Wellness and Mental Health, formerly NOVA Cares, she has served as a CARE/BIT counselor, assistant chair of the former CARE Team and CARE Team member. She has offered a variety of workshops and is engaged in several initiatives to support faculty, staff and students with their wellness and mental health. She serves as chair of the Recreation, Wellness and Fun Committee and is one of the agency coordinators for CommonHealth, the employee health and wellness initiative. Prior to working at NOVA, Regina provided mental health counseling in a variety of settings. She is a licensed professional counselor and is a national board-certified counselor. Regina enjoys connecting with people as they journey through the various phases of their lives. She loves to cook and spend time with family and friends.
