Enhance Online and Hybrid Courses Thru a QM Workshop
Quality Matters (QM) is a non-profit global organization leading quality assurance in online and innovative digital teaching and learning environments. The QM Rubric is a national quality standard for online and hybrid courses with a focus on quality course design and continuous improvement. As a subscribing member of Quality Matters to promote and continuously improve the quality of online and hybrid courses for student success, NOVA offers QM workshops through its nationally recognized distance learning unit, NOVA Online. This QM’s flagship workshop serves as the first step in familiarizing with the QM Rubric and applying it in course design and peer review of online courses. NOVA and all VCCS colleges have been using the QM national quality standard.
To help faculty learn more about the QM Rubric, we are going to offer Applying the QM Rubric October 4 through 25. This workshop is free for full-time and part-time NOVA faculty, and it is delivered online asynchronously so that faculty can learn anywhere, anytime to complete assignments by the due dates. Upon successful completion of the online workshop, participants will receive a certificate from Quality Matters enhancing their professional knowledge and background in this national standard.
You can register for the workshop at GoSignMeUp through Online Teaching on the navigation menu. Questions or further information, please contact Hong Wang at hwang@nvcc.edu.
