Be a Part of the ‘Celebrate & Remember’ Series!

The Office of DEI is planning a new series of mini-events called the ‘Celebrate & Remember’ (C&R) series, and we need your help! With a student body of over 75,000 and our staff and faculty roster of 3,400+, NOVA is an extremely diverse place. Although we do our best to highlight the heritages and holidays of many in our community through DEI Spotlight and other events, we recognize that there are many more days that are special to members of our NOVA family. The Office of DEI would like to invite NOVA students, faculty or staff to participate in a quick 30-minute Zoom to honor and remember your special day. Facilitators could share a favorite memory, show pictures, provide some history, hold a moment of silence or whatever you feel would be appropriate to honor the day to which you are connected.

At this time, we are looking for facilitators for the following days: Indigenous Peoples Day, Day of the Dead, Transgender Day of Remembrance, Holocaust Remembrance Day, Lunar New Year, Holi, Ramadan, Easter, Passover and Denim Day. If you are interested in facilitating or co-facilitating a 30-minute event, you can sign up here.
