In-person New Hire Orientation Restarting Oct. 10
We are excited to announce that we will be restarting the in-person new hire orientation beginning Monday, Oct. 10 for full-time faculty and classified staff at the central HR office in Fairfax/Pender. New hires will be informed by their employment contact to arrive by 8:30 a.m. at 3926 Pender Drive, Suite 150 in Fairfax. The morning agenda covers important new hire topics in HR, such as benefits, time and leave, employee relations, I-9 collection and employee development. New employees will also have an opportunity to attain their NOVACards. Employees not able to attend in person will be given access to the online orientation video. New hire orientation takes place on the 10th and 25th of each month or the following business day when those dates fall on a weekend or college holiday.
More exciting news! The campuses will begin hosting an afternoon campus welcome tour on orientation day with NOVA “ambassadors.” These will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., and ambassadors will “hand off” new employees to their supervisor or department head for further onboarding.
Thank you to all the campus ambassadors for welcoming new employees to our awesome campuses! Supervisors and campus ambassadors will be contacted prior to each orientation day with the incoming new hire information.
