Seeking Faculty Input on Packback AI

October 7, 2022 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

We are soliciting faculty interest in a pilot program using an instructional tool called Packback. Packback uses artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the quality of discussion/writing/inquiry in classes. The tool provides immediate feedback to students’ online discussion posts to help them understand the expectations of college writing.

Packback AI gives students on-the-spot feedback and works from a learner-centered, inquiry-based model. It has the side benefit of reducing the volume of work faculty must grade/provide feedback. This focus on timely and equitable feedback looks promising, and we would like faculty feedback on the potential use of this tool.

We have scheduled four Zoom information sessions on Packback:

  • Friday Oct 7, 12 p.m. until 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday Oct 11, 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Thursday Oct 13, 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.
  • Monday Oct 17, 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

If you are interested in learning more about Packback, please register for one of the Zoom information sessions here.
