Join Us for a Professional Development Workshop on Lecture Methods, Nov. 11 and 15

November 2, 2022 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

The professional development subcommittee of the AADWG is pleased to present its first workshop focusing on Teaching for Learning: 101 Intentionally Designed Educational Activities to Put Students on the Path to Success (2nd edition). Our first session will focus on the first chapter, entitled “The Lecture Method.” In order to provide multiple opportunities for adjunct faculty, the workshop will be presented first on Friday, November 11 at 1 p.m. and then repeated on Tuesday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m. Faculty can choose whichever session best fits their schedule; there is no need to attend both.

In preparation for the workshop, we would like to request that attendees complete this reflective activity before attending.

Hard copies of the book have been delivered to those who requested them earlier, though associate deans at each campus should have a few extra copies. If attendees are interested in obtaining a hard copy of the book, they should reach out to their respective associate dean for information on availability. An e-version of the book can also be read or downloaded through the Taylor & Francis database. Faculty will need to access the link on campus or while connected to the NOVA virtual private network (VPN).

We look forward to seeing you there!
