Waddell Gallery to Host Grids + Gradients Exhibit
The Waddell Gallery on NOVA’s Manassas Campus is excited to announce Rebecca Rivas-Rogers’ solo exhibition Grids + Gradients. The exhibit will open Monday, Nov. 7 and will be on display until Dec. 23. The artist will be working onsite for the first week of the show, assembling her site-specific installation of found and painted materials. Please stop by to meet the artist and watch as she builds the installation on Monday, Thursday and Friday (Nov. 7 through 11). The opening reception will be held once the installation is complete on Monday, Nov. 14 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Please join us and have an opportunity to speak with the artist about the show. I have attached the flyer and statement for the exhibition
“Working onsite during the first week of Grids + Gradients Rebecca Rivas-Rogers has assembled a site-specific installation of found and painted materials drawn from the colors and forms of the construction site. Working between order and disarray to mimic the temporary nature and ordinary strangeness of a utilitarian environment, Grids + Gradients continuously shifts between two- and three-dimensions as drawings, paintings, improvised structures and materials are exhibited together with little distinction made between finding, making, installing, drawing, storing or documenting.”
