Week of Events to Celebrate Our Veterans
With a series of events scheduled at all NOVA campuses, the Office of Military and Veteran Services is excited to celebrate our Veteran and Military affiliated students, faculty and staff during the week of November 7 through Nov. 11.
The week kicks off with a grab and go breakfast at the Annandale Campus, and a brunch with Career Counselors at the Woodbridge Campus. Special screenings of Top Gun: Maverick at Annandale and Woodbridge are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov 9 along with a grab and go breakfast at Manassas, and a Veterans Day Lunch at MEC. Thursday features a grab and go breakfast at the Loudoun Café, and the highlight of the week – the inaugural OMVS Branch vs Branch 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at the Alexandria Campus. Players will battle it out to see which military branch can claim victory. The week winds down with a yoga session in the library at Annandale on Friday.
OMVS Director Dr. Takesha McMiller states “our team is excited to show our appreciation for and celebrate our Veteran Students, Faculty and Staff with the variety of activities at all campuses. This has been a team effort across NOVA departments and campuses.”
The OMVS team would like to thank the Departments of Student Life, Student Services, Career Services, and Recreation and Wellness for the support, partnership and sponsorship of these events. The full schedule of events with dates, times and locations is below.
