Seven Nighthawks Named to All-Region Sports

Following the return to action after the pandemic, seven NOVA student-athletes were selected NJCAA All-Region 20 this fall.

Nicole Puhek was named all-region at the completion of the NJCAA Region 20 Cross-Country Championship after a fourth-place finish. Her time of 22:22 at the race was the eighth fastest in program history and a personal record.

Volleyball student-athletes Nina Brkic and Bella Villota, meanwhile, garnered first-team honors, while Hannah Mounier and Lindsey Heyn picked up second-team and honorable-mention accolades, respectively.

On the soccer pitch, Ermias Goshu, who led the Nighthawks in goals (7) was named second all-region and Alex Romero was an honorable-mention pick after his six-goal, two-assist season.

The NJCAA Region 20 consists of schools from Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the Nighthawks.
