Congratulations to Dr. Sherri Anna Brown
It is with great excitement (and sadness) I share that Dr. Sherri Anna Brown will be leaving NOVA to become the new associate vice president of student affairs at Baltimore City Community College. Her last day at NOVA will be Wednesday, November 30. Her 19-year tenure at NOVA has been stellar and I feel privileged to have been a colleague of hers over the years. Dr. Brown has been both a leader and a team player in multiple capacities at NOVA (and beyond). She has worked at the Annandale, Medical and Alexandria Campuses and has positively impacted each of them as a result. She has also chaired and served on countless groups and committees providing solid and sage feedback to her colleagues to improve and enhance services for our students. Further, Dr. Brown initiated and effectively completed numerous projects that successfully impacted various aspects of student services.
Dr. Brown understands and models what it means to be both student centered and student focused. Whether in an in-person or remote setting, she brings her knowledge, intuition, skill and compassion whenever needed.
Please join the Alexandria Campus family as we say ‘Goodbye’ to Dr. Brown as she moves on to the next chapter of her fruitful career. She will be sorely missed by her NOVA colleagues and friends. Our loss is Baltimore City Community College’s gain.
Congratulations, Dr. Sherri Anna Brown!
