Consider Giving to the 2022 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign for Giving Tuesday!

November 29, 2022 / Tuesday Topics

Today is #GivingTuesday, an opportunity to support the many nonprofits that support and strengthen our communities. Every year, NOVA faculty and staff have made significant contributions to the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), and I encourage you to use this year’s #GivingTuesday to donate to the CVC. This is the one statewide activity each year when all of NOVA can work as a team to support the many organizations that improve the quality of life for people in the communities where we live and work. Without this support, these organizations will not have the resources to continue at the same level or meet the challenges of increased needs.

Whether you are giving to CVC for the first time, renewing your current contribution for the upcoming year or are increasing last year’s contribution, your gift matters. One hundred percent of your designated gift goes to the charities you choose, and there are over 1,000 organizations on the CVC list.

Please join the Commonwealth of Virginia’s movement by visiting https://www.cvcgives.org/, select a charity (or charities) of your choice and donate electronically! Also, you can donate through payroll deduction through the EPLEDGE (Employees) link! Select Northern Virginia Community College (Agency Code 280). The campaign ends on December 31, so there is still time to turn in your CVC pledge.

While there are many CVC options available to you, I hope you will consider NOVA’s Educational Foundation, which accepts tax-deductible donations directly on behalf of NOVA throughout the year. The NOVA Foundation is the only non-profit dedicated to securing private resources to support our college, our programs, and most importantly, our students. Funds raised by the Foundation support scholarships and emergency grants for NOVA students. The economic realities facing our students today make the Foundation’s work more important than ever. The CVC designation number for the Foundation is 201041

If you have any questions about this year’s campaign, feel free to email Lillie Stanfield at LStanfield@nvcc.edu. Many thanks, NOVA, for your generosity in support of those in need!
