Fab Lab Recruiting for Design Thinking Fellows. Info Meeting, Dec. 6
The NOVA Fab Lab is recruiting for the second cohort of faculty Design Thinking Fellows! Design thinking is a human-centered, iterative approach to problem solving, with applications both in pedagogy and industry. This NSF-funded program is open to any teaching faculty interested in bringing design thinking into their classroom.
Selected fellows will complete the following:
- Learn design thinking during the spring: Fellows will work in interdisciplinary groups to practice design thinking and learn ways to integrate it into the classroom. Sessions will take place in March and April (4 two-hour virtual meetings and 2 in-person meetings)
- Practice teaching design thinking over the summer: Fellows will practice teaching design thinking at NOVA summer programs. Fellowship organizers will work closely with the cohort to ensure that any summer events reflect fellows’ existing obligations.
- Create a lesson integrating design thinking: Fellows will create a lesson for their own classroom that integrates design thinking and document their results.
Fellows will receive a $2,200 stipend for their participation.
