November 30, 2022 / Music, Arts & Other Pretty Stuff

All are invited to join this week’s “Empowering Students Through the Diversity of Music,” finale event on Thursday, Dec 1 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on the Annandale Campus, Room CA-302.

Our guest speaker is Dr. Kevin B. Wright, George Mason professor, historical lecturer and renowned musician.

He will be joining us for this holiday luncheon and celebration, giving thanks for “The Power of the Blues,” a live event featuring Blues works from the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, Ray Charles, Johnny Winter, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, B.B. King and the Rolling Stones.

Students will learn how this art form grew to involve all races and ethnicities, becoming one of society’s first and most successful examples of diversity.

We hope you will join us in welcoming Dr. Wright and help us celebrate the conclusion of this groundbreaking DEI-grant symposium, “Empowering Students Through the Diversity of Music.”

This event is made possible by the DEI-InNOVAtion Grant. Thank you to everyone who has supported this program. *Refreshments will be served afterwards.
