New Reward Program for Classified Staff and P14 Employees
We are pleased to announce the NOVA Spot Award Program, a new reward program for NOVA classified staff and P14 employees. This new reward program is a way for supervisors of classified staff and P14 employees to acknowledge one or more specific instances of exemplary performance and recognize employees who have performed short-term projects/tasks in an exceptional manner. The Spot Award Program acknowledges noteworthy contributions by our classified staff and P14s, and reinforces the behaviors and values that are important at NOVA.
The eligibility requirements, award levels, and procedures can be found on Form 105-245 posted in the Forms Library. Supervising managers who wish to acknowledge an employee’s exemplary performance should complete the online Classified Staff/P14 Spot Award Form (posted in the Forms Library), including a narrative of up to 500 words describing why the employee should receive a reward. The information provided should include specific information to support the exemplary performance. The supervisor must justify the request by articulating how the employee has gone above and beyond regular job responsibilities (as outlined in the EWP) to provide a positive impact towards the mission of NOVA and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia. The supervisor must also ensure that the employee meets all the required eligibility criteria.
The NOVA Spot Award Program is effective immediately and is available throughout the year. This program replaces the former classified staff reward program that previously came out each January. The new NOVA Spot Award Program should not be used in place of paying overtime or compensatory time.
We hope this new program is meaningful to employees and promotes the values of NOVA and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
