The Office of Emergency Management and Safety (OEMS) would like to invite College Floor Wardens to take American Heart Association CPR and The American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleed Certification class to be held December 16, 2022, at the Manassas Campus Training Center.  Training will begin at 08:00am and run a full day. Class size is limited to the first 12 wardens that respond by email to oem@nvcc.edu This training is reserved for College Floor Wardens only. Please obtain permission from your supervisor to attend this training. Additional trainings will be offered in the very near future for Wardens who may not be able to attend.

In the class, attendees will be instructed on the American Heart Association “Heartsaver” CPR for adults, children and infants using current protocols, and successful completion will prepare College Floor Wardens to better respond to campus emergencies. Each participant will also receive a portable “pocket mask”, and other gifts for completing the training.

Additionally, College Floor Wardens will receive the American College of Surgeons “Stop the Bleed” certification which will teach responders to apply tourniquets and pack wounds to save lives. Participants will be given a tourniquet to keep with their warden bags in case of a bleeding emergency on campus.

Registration is by email, at oem@nvcc.edu and reserved for College Floor Wardens only.
