How Does NOVA Stack Up in Terms of Affordability?
With the cost of living rising dramatically in America—and particularly in this region—college affordability is a hot topic and a key priority for our students. As our new mission statement (pending approval) says, NOVA is proud to offer equitable access to affordable and exceptional higher education and workforce programs.
Heading into the spring semester, the communications team would like to share our external communications themes and a few key messages about NOVA’s affordability. The themes, which will be woven into our external messaging, can be summed up in two statements:
NOVA is affordable; flexible for today’s college students and achievable. With a NOVA education, our graduates are employable.
So when you’re talking about the awesome place where you work, draw attention to the fact that NOVA is a super affordable way for students to change their lives! Here are some stats to back that up:
- NOVA is the region’s most affordable higher education solution, with students saving nearly 60% on tuition and fees
- Thanks to FastForward and G3, nearly 75% of NOVA’s workforce students in high-demand programs attend for free
- NOVA provides $16 million in dual enrollment scholarships each year to Northern Virginia families
- Less than 7% of NOVA students borrow federal loans to complete their degree
- NOVA ranked #11 out of all Virginia colleges and universities for ensuring low-income students get the GREATEST return on investment
We will continue to share messaging updates and talking points throughout the spring semester. Until then, have a wonderful winter break!
