MEC Welcomes New Associate Dean of Health Sciences

The Medical Education Campus is thrilled to welcome a new Associate Dean of Health Sciences, Marina McGraw!

Ms. McGraw has been a registered dental hygienist for 26 years. She spent over 18 years practicing dental hygiene in a general dentistry office in Charlottesville, Va. She also volunteered as an emergency medical technician enhanced, or EMT-E, for three years for Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue in Palmyra, Va. and was a member of the Water Rescue Team. In spring 2014, she came to NOVA and has served the Dental Hygiene program as the second-year clinic coordinator and has been the program director and associate professor since 2015. Additionally, while at NOVA, she has taught “Dental Radiation Health and Safety” for Workforce Development.

Ms. McGraw earned her associate degree in dental hygiene from Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke Va. She received her bachelor’s in health science from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. and her master’s in health administration from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix Ariz. Currently, she is enrolled in Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. pursuing her doctoral degree in health sciences. 

She has a thirteen-year-old daughter, Eden, who keeps her busy and, in her free time, she enjoys cycling and reading.
