The NOVA Spring Faculty Convening 2023 (formerly Spring Convocation) will be held today from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. This event will be held online via Zoom at: https://vccs.zoom.us/j/84378129674, Passcode: 528040.
The Spring Faculty Convening will welcome NOVA faculty back with a Keynote Address by Todd Zakrajsek, and provide important college-wide information for all faculty.

Keynote Address: Integrating Lecturing with Active Learning
Todd Zakrajsek, Ph.D.
Educational psychologist and author Dr. Todd Zakrajsek will discuss engagement through the integration of lecturing with active learning. Research shows that adding active learning to any teaching experience increases learning and retention of material. He will highlight different types of active/engaged learning and how to purposefully select the correct strategies to promote meaningful engagement. Dr. Zakrajsek will host a follow-up workshop to dive more deeply into engagement strategies to kick-off the 2023 PUP Conference at noon.
