LO Waddell Gallery to Host Artist Reception with Melanie Kehoss, Tonight at 5

The NOVA’s Waddell Gallery at Loudoun Campus is excited to announce Melanie Kehoss’s solo exhibition Á La Mode. The show opened on Jan. 17 and will be on display until Feb. 24. Please stop by to meet the artist for the opening reception on Monday, January 23 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Melanie Kehoss is a Northern Virginia-based artist whose work has been shown throughout the country. Her work features cut paper light boxes made to create the feeling of looking into another world. Her inspiration comes from the “surprising histories of familiar practices,” including “curious evolutions of cultural phenomena.” These vignettes are “reminiscent of codices or medieval visual storytelling, and the narrative compositions travel through time and space in a single image.” She explores meanings of the phrase Á La Mode throughout the selected works of the exhibition, showing its various permutations and uses in a historical context.
