NOVA Career Counseling: Career Ladder Workshop Series (NEW!)
There is an exciting new initiative from the NOVA Career Counseling team: the Career Ladder workshop series. We’ve noticed that students often express interest in a given field yet are not fully aware of the wide array of opportunities, educational requirements, and companies with which they may pursue employment. Therefore, the Career Ladder workshop series will utilize the Office of Strategic Insight’s Labor Market Intelligence to teach participants about:
- Potential career paths within each field, an idea of broad occupations/job titles that exits, and the level of education they typically require for employment.
- How many job postings there were for those jobs over the last year, and the range of salaries one might expect.
This workshop series will focus on the six following career ladders:
- Business and Finance
- Construction and Skilled Trades
- Health Care
- Information Technology
- Public Administration
- STEM
Please share widely with students. This will be a great opportunity to connect our students with local, real-time job market information that will be invaluable to their career goals and ensuring they are career-ready!
The series will run weekly from February until April. Students can sign up for these workshops through Career Connection.
If students have questions or need assistance enrolling, they can contact novacareerservices@nvcc.edu.
