Gain Essential Skills to Teach Hybrid Courses
Hybrid learning combines the benefits of both face-to-face and online modes of instruction. Research reported that hybrid learning offers increased access, flexibility, pedagogical richness, learning effectiveness and improved cost effectiveness. Hybrid learning ensures interaction and learning engagement, and it is valuable for different sorts of learners. Many scholars regard hybrid learning as “the new normal” in education due to its high rate of adoption, popularity, and perceived benefits.
If you are a growth-minded educator and would like to add hybrid courses to your teaching portfolio, we have scheduled three sessions of our hybrid certification course to help you get ready for teaching your first hybrid course at NOVA. In addition to the first session that started on January 3, two more are available for NOVA faculty in the spring semester. These are online sessions, allowing you to learn anytime and anywhere. Upcoming sessions are:
- Hybrid Certification Course, February 6 – March 5
- Hybrid Certification Course, March 20 – April 16
This online course is offered in Canvas, and you can register at GSMU through Hybrid Teaching on the navigation menu. Have questions or need more information? Please email Hong Wang at HWang@nvcc.edu .
