NOVA Seeks Interim AVP of Student Support Services, Express Interest by COB Today

As we congratulate Dr. Beatrice McKeithen on her new appointment to serve as acting vice president for enrollment management and student success (EMSS), EMSS is now seeking an interim associate vice president for student support services. Reporting to the acting VP, the interim AVP for student support services will provide oversight of key student services programs including, but not limited to, accommodations and accessibility services; Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS); financial stability and advocacy; Great Expectations; military and veteran services; wellness and mental health and will serve as chair of the Threat Assessment Team. The interim AVP for student support services will provide leadership and support to staff in fulfilling the institution’s obligations for complying with federal and state regulations within these programs.

The interim AVP for student support services will develop, implement and assess programs and services to produce high-quality results that meet strategic priorities; foster a collaborative environment among academic support and engagement offices to maximize services for all students; assist the acting vice president of enrollment management and student supports in the management of support services to increase growth, retention, student success rate and ensure compliance with federal and state programs.

The person selected to fill this role must currently be professional/administrative faculty and hold a master’s degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and have at least three years of progressive administrative responsibility, including compliance program oversight, personnel supervision and budget management. Acting pay, in accordance with VCCS policy, will be provided for the duration of this appointment.

The interim AVP for student support services will be selected and appointed by the acting vice president from the pool of qualified individuals expressing interest.
