CATE Replaces CETL: Please Participate in ThoughtExchange by Feb. 6
Academic Affairs is excited to announce the creation of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE).
CATE is replacing CETL to support teaching and learning at NOVA. CATE is envisioned as a resource for faculty to connect with each other and with departments across NOVA to support effective teaching practices and learning engagement with NOVA students. CATE will seek to stimulate intellectual curiosity, technical competency, pedagogical inquiry and shared learning, thereby building community and improving teaching, inside and outside the classroom.
CATE is led by Barbara Crain, faculty lead for CATE, in collaboration with David Epstein, college dean for faculty professional development and Dr. Preston Davis, director of faculty professional development.
We are looking for input on how CATE can best serve NOVA Faculty. We are requesting all NOVA faculty to share ideas and suggestions in a ThoughtExchange. Please access the ThoughtExchange here no later than February 6. Your contributions will help shape the mission and programming of CATE.
