Dr. Takesha McMiller to Serve as Interim AVP for Student Support Services
Thank you to all who expressed interest in the role of interim AVP for student support services. I am pleased to announce that Dr. Takesha McMiller, director of military & veteran services, will serve as interim AVP for student support services beginning February 10. The interim AVP for student support services will report to the acting vice president of EMSS and provide leadership and support to staff in the offices of military & veteran services, accommodations and accessibility services, wellness and mental health, the Financial Stability and Advocacy Center, CCAMPIS and other areas.
Many of you know Dr. McMiller in her current role as director of military & veteran services. Over the past 13 years at NOVA, Dr. McMiller has served as coordinator of off-campus military programs, assistant director of military services and director of military and veteran services. Dr. McMiller brings strong leadership in student support and has extensive administrative and management experience.
I extend my thanks to Dr. McMiller for taking on this important interim role and welcome her to the EMSS leadership team.
