Join Your Forum Council! 2023-2025 Nominations Due Feb. 15

February 9, 2023 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

On behalf of the Elections and Credentials Committee, we encourage you to participate in our college governance, officially known as the College Forum.

If you are interested in serving on a Forum Council, and possibly on the College Senate, please consider nominating yourself or encouraging colleagues to nominate themselves. The Forum Councils have done important work over the years in supporting our students, recognizing our faculty and staff, and making our college a friendly and efficient place to work and study. Getting involved is a wonderful way to learn about and contribute to your campus and college.

Campus Forum representation is based on primary work location, and not reporting lines.

Forum FAQs:

What is the term of office?

  • The term of office is two years.

What is the time commitment?

  • Forums meet monthly from September through April. Each Forum sets their own meeting day/time based on member availability.

How do I become a College Senator?

  • The Forum Councils elect Senators to the College Senate. As a member of your campus’ Forum Council, you may be elected to be a Senatorial seat.

I report to a central unit? Which Forum do I choose?

  • Faculty and staff who report to central college units can now run for election at their primary work location. Advisors, Librarians, IET Faculty, Financial Aid, IT, Parking, Police, etc., can represent the campus they call ‘home.’

For those located at a central administrative office (Brault, Pender, Pitney Bowes) the College Staff Forum Council is your representative body.

If you would like to be on the ballot this year for your Forum Council election, please self-nominate via this form. The deadline to self-nominate is 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15th.

The Forum Council Elections will be held in early March.
