NOVA’s 2023 Student Diversity Institute to Offer the “Defamation Experience,” Feb. 17

NOVA’s Student Diversity Institute will offer the “Defamation Experience,” a unique experience that challenges our preconceived notions about race, class, religion, gender and even law. As audience members and then jurors, students learn more about themselves than they will about the plaintiff and defendant in the production. Participants will engage together in a fully immersive and interactive experience. 

Following the “trial,” Mrs. Ashley Gaddy will offer a stellar keynote focusing on intersectionality and moving the mind to action.

The event will be a fully virtual experience and follow the scheduled outline below.

• Part 1:  11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. “The Defamation Experience” & deliberation
• Part 2:  12:50 p.m. until 1:35 p.m.  “The Reality of Intersectionality” with keynote Ashley Gaddy
• Part 3:  1:40 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Conclusion and Reflection
