Gratitude

Today’s topic is gratitude.

My Chief of Staff Tykesha Myrick kindly and quite unexpectedly put a note in Thursday’s Daily Flyer sharing that it was a milestone birthday for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who sent such kind, gracious and wonderful greetings in response to her invitation.

Like everyone, my life’s journey has had many twists and turns. I have been very (very) lucky, though, and many more of these twists and turns have swirled up than down.

The greatest opportunities I have had have come because people believed in me and invested in me. So, with sincere gratitude for the great luck I have had and with deep appreciation to all of you, I am making an additional gift of $1,963 (my birth year—yes, I’m 60) to the Student Success Fund in honor of our incredible NOVA community.
