Advising Redesign Model Update
Under the leadership of Dr. Beatrice McKeithen, acting vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success, the Advising Redesign Committee has been working diligently to ensure the advising model is comprehensive and student centered. With that in mind, they recently met with Dr. Sheri Rowland, ATD coach and vice president for student affairs at Tallahassee Community College, to learn about TCC’s journey in developing a holistic approach to supporting students. The information was enlightening, as the work spanned the continuum of the student experience to include a re-envisioning of onboarding to incorporate support for the completion of necessary processes, as well as academic and career assistance. It was an empowering experience that demonstrated to all attendees that NOVA’s aspirational goals related to advising redesign, holistically, and its impact on student success are possible
