NOVA Seeks Interim Director of Dual Enrollment. Express Interest by Today at 5

After eight years of exemplary service at NOVA, Amy Nearman, the director of dual enrollment, will be leaving to pursue an opportunity outside of the College. As a result, the Division of Academic Affairs is seeking an interim director of dual enrollment who will report to the vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer (VPAA/CAO). This interim position requires a strategic thinker who can drive the growth and development of high school partnerships across the Northern Virginia region.

The interim director of dual enrollment at NOVA will be responsible for overseeing the Dual Enrollment program partnerships and team and for providing the necessary support to ensure high school students achieve their academic and college goals. The interim director must be able to:

  • collaborate with high schools and home school associations across the region to develop new dual enrollment partnerships and pathways;
  • provide leadership and mentorship to staff and faculty involved in the Dual Enrollment Program;
  • track student and course progress to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed;
  • serve as a liaison between the Dual Enrollment Program and various campus departments, such as Academic Affairs and Student Services and Enrollment Management;
  • possess strong leadership and communication (written and oral) skills;
  • create and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners.

The person selected to fill this interim role must be in a faculty position, hold a minimum of master’s degree, and have significant (five or more years) management experience in admissions, dual enrollment, or a related field. Acting pay, in accordance with VCCS policy, will be provided for the duration of this appointment.
