Deadline Extended: Apply for “Open for Inclusive Excellence” Today!

March 29, 2023 / Tech Notes & Training

Are you interested in exploring innovative approaches to teaching and learning online? Do you want to empower your online students to take charge of their education and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them beyond the classroom? If so, NOL’s Open for Inclusive Excellence (OFIE) course is for you!

This five-week asynchronous course, to be held from April 10 through May 17, is designed to help you discover the benefits of open pedagogy and learn how to integrate it into your online teaching practices. Open pedagogy is a forward-thinking approach that emphasizes collaboration, creativity and community engagement. By implementing open pedagogy practices, you can create a more inclusive learning environment that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving and active learning.

During the OFIE course, you will have access to a wide range of open pedagogy resources and tools, including open educational resources (OER), open assignments and collaborative learning activities. You will also have the opportunity to network and collaborate with other online faculty members from across the Commonwealth who share your interest in adopting open pedagogy practices.

The course is made possible by the generous support of the Online Virginia Network (OVN), which provides a $300 stipend for eligible faculty who actively participate and complete the course. To apply for this exciting opportunity, submit your application by March 29th. Please note that you must be logged into your VCCS account to apply, and spaces are limited.
