NOVA’s Green Festival, April 19 and 20

April 6, 2023 / General NOVA News

NOVA’s 2023 Green Festival will be held Wednesday and Thursday, April 19 and 20 via Zoom. This year’s theme is “Local to Global – Green events, activities and organizations”

The purpose of the annual Green Festival is to increase both the College’s and local community’s awareness of regional, national and global environmental issues and to provide information regarding ways that individuals can help preserve the environment. While our target audience includes high school and college students, the event is free and open to the public.

The festival will be a combination of a film and virtual presentations (see speaker list here!). Ideally, it will help the audience to recognize ways they can conserve resources, promote change and make a difference as individuals.

This year’s event features a virtual viewing of the film Carbon Nation–A Climate Change Solutions Movie, on April 19, and virtual presentations on April 20. Presentation topics will cover: sustainable farming, a Northern Virginia nature preserve and local and global outdoor classrooms.
