NOVA’s Green Festival, April 19 and 20

April 13, 2023 / Events

Join us for NOVA’s 2023 Green Festival, scheduled for Wednesday, , April 19, from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 20, from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The theme for this year’s event is “Local to Global – Green events, activities, and organizations.” This event will be held via Zoom.

The purpose of the festival is to increase both the college and local community awareness of regional, national and global environmental issues and provide information regarding ways that individuals can help preserve the environment. While our target audience is high school and college students, the event is free and open to all members of the public.

The festival will be a combination of a film and virtual presentations (see speaker list here!). Ideally, it will help the audience to recognize ways they can conserve resources, promote change and make a difference as individuals.

This year’s event features a virtual viewing of the film Carbon Nation – A Climate Change Solutions Movie, on April 19, and virtual presentations on April 20. Presentation topics will cover sustainable farming, a Northern Virginia nature preserve and local and global outdoor classrooms.

More information, the list of speakers and Zoom registration links are available here, www.nvcc.edu/green-festival/.
