VCCS Chancellor David Doré to Visit NOVA, Tomorrow, Friday

April 26, 2023 / General NOVA News

The VCCS’ new Chancellor Dr. David Doré will visit NOVA on Thursday and Friday, April 27 and 28. Here is the tentative schedule:

On Thursday, April 27, Chancellor Doré will have breakfast with our College Board and the NOVA Foundation Board before traveling to the Woodbridge Campus for a tour, followed by lunch with teaching faculty. He will spend the afternoon at the Medical Education Campus, touring our health programs and meeting with MEC students and hospital partners.

On Friday, April 28, he will have breakfast with members of the Administrative Council and student governments before touring the Annandale Campus. He will then visit the Manassas Campus for a lunch with professional faculty and classified staff, followed by a tour of the Campus. Chancellor Doré will end his second day with a tour of the Fab Lab and a roundtable with business leaders.

The President’s Office is working with the College Senate and the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership to determine the guest lists for the lunches and breakfast.

It is simply impossible to capture every aspect of NOVA and to visit all of NOVA’s sites and staff, so please know that this is the first time that Chancellor Doré will visit NOVA—not the last. As he has made clear, he wants to stay connected to the system’s 23 colleges, students, faculty and staff. The chancellor wants your voices to be heard as he focuses on increasing student access and success, and he wants to engage you in the important work of making our colleges central to strengthening our communities and ensuring that all Virginians are prepared with the skills to thrive in the 21st century workplace.

We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Doré  on Thursday and Friday to share our remarkable college and share all that makes us boldly NOVA!
