NOVA Police Make Community Safer thru National Drug Take Back Event!

On Saturday, April 22, the NOVA Police Department participated in the 24th Annual National Drug Take Back Event sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This year, NOVA’s  Alexandra, Annandale and Loudoun campuses were all registered as collection sites. Between our three campuses, we were able to collect 77 pounds of expired and unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs, which will now be disposed of safely.

This important initiative addresses vital safety and public health issues. Unused or expired over-the-counter or prescription medications, left unsecured, can be prone to misuse and may contribute to overdoses and accidental poisonings.

NOVA Police thank our community for stopping by and for taking the necessary steps to dispose of medications responsibly.
