NOVA Showcase Series Highlights Three NOVA Campuses

The Manassas, Woodbridge and Annandale campuses opened their doors to welcome potential students this spring as part of the NOVA Showcase Series. The events took place on Saturdays in March and April and were a testament to the strong collaboration of several NOVA departments! Prospective students and their families were able to interact in hands-on academic presentations, attend parent-focused presentations and learn more about NOVA offerings and services via a resource fair and NOVA student panel.

Originally, born out of a drive to increase the conversion rate of dual-enrollment students, the NOVA Showcase Series attracted a diverse body of students from area public high schools, private schools and home schools. The Office of Dual Enrollment worked in tandem with local school division contacts to advertise and motivate participation in the event. Over 365 students and family members attended the three campus events to tour facilities and discover all that NOVA has to offer!

Feedback from students and their families was overwhelmingly positive. They noted that, in several areas, this event outperformed what four-year institutions have to offer for exploring their campus facilities and programs. One Chantilly High School student expressed, “I had no idea this was a real college campus!  I had always assumed it was a building and a parking lot.”  As the college moves toward a laser-like focus on recruitment and enrollment, the NOVA Showcase Series serves as an excellent opportunity to show off what NOVA has to offer our future Nighthawks.
