Coming Soon–Online Professional Development with PLOMS
Find details about “Facilitated Online Workshop: Applying PLOMS to Course Revision or Redesign” on the DEI website.
What is PLOMS you ask? PLOMS is a newly developed design model that addresses presentation, language, options, measurement and support/scaffolding while highlighting fundamentals of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and accessibility.
This asynchronous two-week Canvas workshop contains five short P-L-O-M-S modules and accessibility design information and tips. Each module has one discussion activity that asks participants to explain how they will improve an assignment, based on what they learn in the module.
Enrolled participants who successfully complete the workshop may be eligible to receive a stipend. Since the workshop entails involvement from faculty who would be compensated using the DEI InNOVAtion funds from NOVA Foundation for enrolling and completing the workshop, HR will need to verify eligibility to receive the supplemental compensation for participating in the workshop.
There will be two asynchronous sessions, July 9-23 and September 10-24; and enrollment is limited.
More enrollment information to be available soon. Questions? Contact Maureen Madden mmadden@nvcc.edu.
