Register Your Interest Now for “Applying PLOMS to Course Revision or Redesign”

May 23, 2023 / Tech Notes & Training

PLOMS is a newly developed design model that addresses presentation, language options, measurement and support/scaffolding while highlighting fundamentals of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and accessibility. See our earlier Daily Flyer article here.

This asynchronous two-week Canvas workshop contains five short P-L-O-M-S modules and accessibility design information and tips. Each module has one discussion activity that asks participants to explain how they will improve an assignment, based on what they learn in the module.

The sessions will be offered twice: July 9 through 23 and September 10 through 24! Participation is limited. Applicants will be notified if the session they chose has filled and given an opportunity to choose the other session if there is room. Once the roster has been determined, more information (how to access the Canvas site, etc.) will be shared with participants at least one week before the start date.

Enrolled participants who successfully complete the workshop may be eligible to receive a stipend.  Since this workshop entails involvement from faculty who would be compensated using the DEI InNOVAtion funds from NOVA Foundation for enrolling and completing the workshop, HR will need to verify eligibility to receive the supplemental compensation for participating in the workshop.  If you are not eligible to receive the stipend, you may still participate in the workshop.

Complete the Google Form application to apply (you may need to log into your My NOVA account) for the “Facilitated Online Workshop, Applying PLOMS to Course Revision or Redesign” (for more information on this project see DEI website).
