Students Can Use Free Summer Math Workshops to Prepare for Fall Math Classes

June 13, 2023 / Our Nighthawks

The NOVA Math Success Team wants students to be successful in their upcoming fall math courses. If students feel that they need to brush up on their math skills before fall, we are here to support them!

We have developed free summer workshops specifically designed to help prepare students for MTH-154, 161, 167, 245, 261 or 263. Participation is completely voluntary and has no impact on placement or enrollment in fall courses.

There are a variety of workshops available, depending on the math course. They range from one week to two week (four day to eight day) sessions. All workshops are offered in person, and some are also offered virtually. Some workshops are available asynchronously, which means students can complete them at their own pace at any time of day. Workshops will be available in July and August.

The workshops have been  carefully designed by NOVA math faculty and staff and are facilitated by our Math Support Specialists. All the workshops are free and voluntary and there’s no need to purchase any materials to participate.
