Lawrence Nightingale to Serve as Interim Director of OSRR
Thank you to all who expressed interest in the role of interim Director for the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities. I am pleased to announce that Dr. Lawrence Nightingale, the evening and weekend coordinator for the Woodbridge Campus, has been appointed to serve as interim director for OSRR. The interim director will report to the AVP for student support services and will provide oversight for student conduct & integrity, the student ombuds program and academic standing-related functions including withdrawals for mitigating circumstances.
Dr. Nightingale has 12 years of progressive administrative responsibility, including personnel supervision and budget management at NOVA. He has been a student at NOVA, served as a counselor, taught NOVA’s student development (SDV) courses throughout his tenure and served as interim associate dean for both the MSTB and LASS academic departments. Dr. Nightingale holds a PhD in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University, a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology from the University of Richmond. Dr. Nightingale is currently active as a college-wide facilitator of Truth Racial Healing and Transformation circles (TRHT).
