Indigo Eriksen Appointed to Southern Regional Education Board’s Center for Innovative Faculty Development
Indigo Eriksen, associate professor of English at the Woodbridge Campus, was appointed to the faculty advisory board for the Southern Regional Education Board’s (SREB) launch of its Center for Innovative Faculty Development. The SREB believes that one of the best ways to improve student success is to ensure that students have excellent classroom learning experiences.
In this advisory role, Eriksen will help SREB determine how this new center will work to enhance the teaching and learning experience for students across the south and nationally at every level within higher education. The board consists of seven faculty members who will work to guide the mission for the newly developed center under the leadership of Dr. Derek Greenfield and Dr. Stevie L. Lawrence, II.
Eriksen anticipates utilizing her experience as co-coordinator of NOVA’s QEP, her work with DEI initiatives at NOVA and her dissertation research. She is excited to be part of the creation of a center to “support, inspire and prepare faculty to meet students where they are, which seems to have become even more complex following the pandemic,” she said. She also believes, “Spaces such as this center are crucial to the success of us all, and especially our students who, after all, are the reason we are here.”
Please join us in congratulating Professor Eriksen on this appointment!
