NOVA Ballroom Instructor and Student Win in the Virginia Dancesport Ballroom Competition

NOVA Ballroom instructor Alan Golombek and his student, Elizabeth Weinand (pictured left) from PED-171 (Intro to Ballroom Dance), competed in the Virginia State Dancesport Championships winning all first places in their division in the Rhythm and Smooth Dances they competed in. Coincidentally, Elizabeth’s mom, Cynthia Saenz-Weinand, is an adjunct English professor at NOVA.  The competition was held July 13-15 in Reston. Alan and his wife, Thuy (pictured on the right), also won all first places in their division of Smooth dances.
