Fran Troy, Associate Director of Advising, to Retire

August 31, 2023 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

After 16 years of service to the College, Fran Troy, associate director of advising, will retire from NOVA on August 31.

Fran’s career at NOVA started as a transfer counselor and SDV instructor on the Annandale Campus before becoming a retention counselor for the Pathway to the Baccalaureate Program. As the associate director of advising, she led two teams of academic advisors on both the Loudoun and Manassas campuses and coordinated college-wide initiatives for student progression and retention.

It has been a privilege to work with Fran over the years and to collaborate on various student success initiatives. She is the heartbeat of the group affectionately known as the “Core 4” of collegewide associate directors of advising.

Please join me in sharing heartfelt congratulations and wishing her well as she transitions into retirement. May she enjoy her new adventure much more knowing how much she deserves it.

Fran Troy, wearing a red baseball cap, grey NOVA polo and jeans sits at her retirement party, with a banner behind her that reads, "The Legend Has Retired."
