NOVA Employees Invited to Los Alamos National Lab Virtual Wellness Expo

September 8, 2023 / Events

On Tuesday, September 12, Dr. Cheri Lemieux Spiegel and Dr. Paul Fitzgerald will offer a two-part workshop series to the Los Alamos National Laboratory‘s employee community. Additionally, as part of their speaking agreement with Los Alamos, the national lab welcomes all NOVA Employees to join in the expo, not only for their colleagues’ sessions, but for any and all sessions over the course of the three day Expo held online via WebEx! Additionally, part of this new relationship with Los Alamos National Lab includes the possibility of student internships. Details of this possibility will be announced at a later date.

Find out more about what you can expect at the expo on the Annandale Center for Contemplative Practice Blog! If you’re not able to attend live, many sessions will be recorded and links to those recordings will be provided via the blog after the expo.

As you might know (especially following this summer’s release of the film Oppenheimer) the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is heralded as one of the largest and most scientifically advanced institutions in the United States. Each year the LANL hosts an employee wellness expo, and this year’s will launch on September 11. The expo theme, “WELLcome to Wellness,” offers a robust line up of morning meditations and a virtual guest speaker series. Guest speakers offer a wide array of topics for wellness ranging from first-year parenting to addiction recovery and mindfulness. The lab welcomes the community at large to join any of the guest speaking series. If you’d like more information, please call the LANL EAP at (505) 667-7339.
