Food Survey Results! You Spoke. We Listened
Last Spring, Auxiliary Services conducted a survey to get feedback on what food and dining options you wanted to see on campus. The results are in, and thank you for your feedback. 142 students, 149 Faculty and 184 Staff responded to the survey.
Where do you want to get food?
Students were nearly evenly split among all options for food on campus, with a slight preference for the cafeterias. A majority of faculty and staff prefer to bring their food from home.
What kinds of food are you looking for?
As far as food types, if “traditional fare” (e.g., pizza, salads, sandwiches/wraps, burgers, fries, chicken tenders) was available, over 80% in both categories would buy food on campus.
If “traditional fare” weren’t available and there were vending machines with fresh sandwiches and chilled or microwaveable products, only 36% overall would buy food from them (54% Students | 29% Faculty/Staff).
Similarly, if “traditional fare” weren’t available and there were convenience store type food available, an overall 56% would buy food there (70% Students | 49% Faculty/Staff).
How much do you want to pay?
The expectation among all respondents is for a combo meal (sandwich, chips, & drink) to be in the $5 – $9 range. (Overall 79% preference | 89% students | 73% faculty/staff)
You responded, we listened!
These results have helped inform the menu options for the cafeterias. The operator at Annandale has a selection of burgers, sandwiches, pizza and breakfast items, while the new operator at Loudoun and Woodbridge has a variety of deli sandwiches, pizza and burgers.
