NOVA Forensics Team Prepares for New Season
It is that time of the year again. NOVA’s Forensics team is looking to recruit new members. Over the next few weeks we will be holding informational sessions and auditions. If you know have students who are interested in competing, please share the following information with them.
What is the NOVA Forensics team?
NOVA’s Forensics team is a nationally recognized speech and debate team, now entering its tenth season. Last year, NOVA hosted the national student forensics tournament in Bethesda, Md. Our team won Silver in Team Sweepstakes and Gold in Interpretation Events Sweepstakes at the Phi Rho Pi National Tournament. All members of the team last year ranked as finalists across six events at the National Online Forensics Championships. This year, students will travel to Reno, Nev. for the 95th annual tournament, from March 30 through April 6, 2024.
Members compete in multiple public speaking and acting events. Students will have the opportunity to hone their public speaking and acting skills, which will positively affect their confidence and academic performance.
