Upcoming Adjunct Professional Development ‘Teaching for Learning’ Sessions, Sept. 19 or 22
The September installment of our professional development series on Teaching for Learning is coming up soon. Please feel free to join us at either of these sessions where we will be discussing Chapter 5: Reading Strategies.
As we await the third shipment of the physical books, please remember that you can also access an electronic version of Teaching for Learning through NOVA’s Libraries.
Before you come to the event, think about these questions:
- What are your purposes for assigning reading in your classes?
- If “Reading strategies help readers establish goals when they approach a text,” how do you help students understand what the “desired outcome” (Major et al., 2021, p. 207) of the reading is?
- How do you provide feedback to students on how well they performed the reading tasks you assign?
