Celebrate Annual Ombuds Day, Oct.12!

September 20, 2023 / Events

What is an Ombuds You Ask? An ombudsman is a person who investigates, reports on and helps settle complaints. Someone usually affiliated with an organization who advocates for a particular constituency within that organization. Dr. Shawn Addison is the employee ombuds, and Dr. Tanneh Kamara is the student ombuds.

As we look toward Annual Ombuds Day on Oct. 12, Drs. Addison and Kamara would like to invite you to a Zoom session to learn more. This virtual session will be held on Thursday, October 12 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to find out how the Office of the Ombuds serves employees and students and navigates conflict at NOVA. The Office of the Ombuds is here to help you understand how we provide confidential, independent, impartial and informal conflict and dispute resolution services for employees and students.
