Car Free Day, Friday, Sept. 22
NOVA employees are invited by Commuter Connections to participate in Car Free Day tomorrow, Friday, September 22. Not everyone can, but commuters who are able are encouraged to go to work by mass transit, ridesharing, bicycling, walking or scootering. All who take the free online pledge will receive a $30 Nift Gift promo code to neighborhood merchants and will be automatically entered into a raffle for a chance to win great prizes such as a Samsung Tablet, Capital Bikeshare annual memberships, SmarTrip cards, gift cards to stores and restaurants and more!
Car Free Day began more than 20 years ago to focus on greener ways of getting around, other than driving by car alone. Each September 22, Car Free Day is celebrated worldwide to create awareness about more sustainable ways of travel that provide a positive effect on the environment, mobility and quality of life.
For more information and to take the free online pledge, please visit www.carfreemetrodc.org or call Commuter Connections at 800-745-7433.
Take the free pledge to be eligible for great prizes, even if you’re already car free or car-lite, commuting full-time or on a hybrid work schedule. #CarFreeDay
