College Recreation (Let’s Get Active)

September 22, 2023 / Our Nighthawks

NOVA College Recreation is all about engaging with students on multiple levels and delivering a product to enhance their overall wellness. The many different activities implemented by College Recreation across all our campuses are to not only enrich our students’ social skills and physical activity but to also give them a sense of purpose on campus outside of academics.

On Wednesday, September 20, the College Recreation department hosted a 2v2 basketball tournament at the Loudoun Campus. We had 18 teams sign up to compete against their peers. There were two brackets, A and B, to distinguish competition levels helping create an inclusive environment for all skill levels. All participants were very competitive and exemplified great sportsmanship, positive vibes and teamwork during gameplay. We had more than 50 students who were active and engaged in the tournament as participants or spectators.

Shout out Uncle Ruckus ELITE and SZ for winning their respective brackets!

College Recreation activities are open to all NOVA students, faculty and staff. To review and or partake in any recreational or wellness activities, go to NOVAAthletics.com or join the Rec on Canvas platform.
