Changes to Operating Hours for Student Affairs, Academic Support Offices Approved
In December 2022, two proposals were approved by Administrative Council to modify the hours in Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS), now Student Affairs (both campus and centrally reporting), and academic support services (testing, tutoring, library). Changes were proposed after tracking student traffic in various offices and are designed to give employees some flexibility in scheduling and creating a time for meetings and professional development.
These changes went into effect the week of September 11. They gave student-facing faculty and staff in these units the option for a flex work schedule. At non-peak times or when there is not a key enrollment date, Student Affairs offices are closed Friday mornings for professional development and meetings. Academic support services are open to students on Fridays but only for a half-day (8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.).
On Monday, September 23, Administrative Council approved some minor changes to these proposals. For instance, business office hours were updated to reflect recent changes. Another change clarified that employees working four 9-hour days and a half-day Friday must work the four hours on Friday in the morning to be present for professional development and meetings.
